Genius. I was locked in a battle with YouTube using different combinations of other adblockers, and this one fixed the problem in one fell swoop. Crossing my fingers that it lets creators with monetized videos keep their ad revenue, too, given that the ad still *technically* plays!
Ublock origin began to show a paused start of the ad with a skip here icon which meant the video didn't automatically play without the ad anymore.. not sure why this is the case, but since installing this extension, youtube videos play normally without any interference :)
