Totally awesome concept and the output is very nice. Rating suffers because I crashed it twice within the first 10 minutes :/ The first crash came out of nowhere. I opened the app, generated a couple of images, switched back to my chrome browser, and when I came back it was looping and locked up. The abort button failed to respond. Second time was by leaving the 'Cols' dialog empty and pressing generate. The abort button again failed to respond. Looped for many minutes before force close.

I would give it 4 1/2 stars if Google allowed half-star ratings on the Chrome Web Store, as I rather enjoy it, and even on a three year old Chromebook it is rather snappy. There are a couple of reasons I would rather go for 4 1/2 over 5, which I will share. It could have a few more tiny features, and I do mean a FEW. A colour picker for the background HEX colour input box would be nice, (I can't remember a single HEX colour key) as would a font selector. I know the names of my favourite fonts, but if I wanted to try one I couldn't remember the name for, it detracts slightly from the otherwise simple and quick experience this app provides. As well as a good number of people not even knowing the names of any fonts whatsoever, save for maybe Arial (and perhaps some of it's derivatives), Times New Roman and *shivers* Comic Sans. Perhaps an option to select separate areas of the picture and have differences in the size of the font, perhaps even the font itself. A help or tips option would be welcome. I think a really good idea would be a small (real time, or near real time - basically depending on your processor speed and RAM) preview of what your change would look like before re-generating the image, as well as an undo option so that if you made drastic changes, or even simple ones and can't remember what is was you changed and want it changed back, that becomes much easier and simpler. Overall though, I really enjoy this app. It does not run offline, however it does open independently of the browser in it's own window, which makes it feel more like a traditional desktop application and not just a glorified website. NOT that there is anything inherently wrong with Chrome/Chrome OS Apps that are presented in that way. Just in my opinion, either stick with an actual traditional website layout and open in a browser window, or make your 'app' function as close to an actual traditional app as possible if you are going to have it presented as such and open in a separate window. This particular 'app' feels like it is an actual application, so it gets it right in that respect. All in all, great app... a few drawbacks that detract from the experience. Great job at making it function similar to a traditional desktop application, and most importantly - fun to use!
