View Ethos credibility scores and data to enhance your web3 browsing experience, ensuring you always know who’s trustworthy in web3.
Ethos is a groundbreaking web3 platform that helps identify credible and non-credible actors. Unlike social media platforms where users can buy large numbers of followers, credibility on Ethos is hard to fake, as it requires actual positive reviews and/or vouches from other real users with verified accounts. With the Ethos extension installed on your browser, you can see people's Ethos 'score' when using other popular services like X - which is extremely valuable in an ecosystem full of pseudonymous users. Regarding the review warning of a security threat because Ethos can 'read/change data on opensea (or any dapp where transactions happen) - it's an extension that interacts with a public blockchain and can initiate transactions. You also have to verify your X account through the extension to use Ethos, so it does have to read data. Each action is associated with a blockchain transaction, so, yeah, it can initiate transactions in order to, uh, work (like any other extension that interacts with blockchains). Overall, I've found Ethos to be a very helpful and innovating extension and glad to see it gaining traction and users at the rate it is!
An increasingly popular tool that prevents scams.
Team is racist and decides to geo-block Africans and Nigerians in particular just because of where they come from. The founder even goes as far as calling Nigerians in Web3 space "Princes", a term used to describe scammers.
