A text editor to create and edit markdown files
A good, straightforward editor for Markdown files in Drive. One odd omission is that it doesn’t recognize underscores as codes for _italics_ and __bold__, which is basic Markdown syntax. I always use *asterisks*, so all my Markdown files work fine. If I were in the habit of using underscores, I’d probably rate this much lower. You can make this your default text editor for Drive. In “My Drive,” go to Settings > Manage Apps and check the box “Use by default” next to Markee. Now when you double-click on a plain text file (like a Markdown file, for example), it will open in Markee.
The app works great for writing Markdown but there's a couple things that would be nice to add: 1. more editor commands, like search and replace; and 2. properly tag the file as a Text file in GDrive (as opposed to Unknown File). One little quirk is that it only supports *italic* and **bold** because it also accepts __underline__ so if you're importing a lot of existing Markdown you might have a bit of a shock! Thanks!
Clean surface and fast response. It got all the function I want. It's a nice project.
