It's sad that the developers don't do anything with the complaints here that the sign in button doesn't work for many. For me too, clicking the sign-in button only gives a little flickering, but then doesn't do anything. So, I can't use the extension. Please try to fix this bug and update the extension!
I was discouraged by all the "doesn't work" reviews. But I went ahead with the app. I got the app access from Paul Ponna. And I was signed into my YouTube account before trying the app. I also watched the training video. So it all worked seamlessly. Except for one hiccup that I had to figure out. That is: after doing your translations, you need to go to your YouTube HOME page to change your viewing translation. You can't change it from the edit/upload page. Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezey
It's just not working. Once you got it installed, you try to log in and it keep asking for login.
