You type a list of words. Then, the "test" shows you the word and you just type it as it appears on the screen.
This App is marvelous! I have been wanting a spelling-help device to increase my daughter's spelling ability. I ran across this one and breathed a sigh of relief. Thank you for creating this App; it is transforming our lives.
