For me, this new "feature" of the side panel has just appeared as of 08/2023. It is such a despicable waste of effort and space for every person involved - the poor coders who had to make this abomination, the beta testers who have had to suffer through it longer than the rest of us, and us regular consumers who are now hoping for a faster crawl toward death to avoid laying our eyes upon this wretched side panel any longer. I am beyond appalled and disappointed with Google for implementing this "feature" in such a violent way - why is there no ability to return to the old functionality? Or even just disable it? I hope the people who thought up this horrid thing are cursed with hyperhidrosis and a constant itch just out of reach. Thank you to this kind person for creating an extension to right Google's wrongs.

That's great! This extension solved the issue of the cheesy Side Panel that google so insistently enforces. Hey google, why did simply opening a new tab with right click become a quest for me? What is wrong with you?
