This works great with my Waldorf Rocket synthesizer module. I have tried it with a generic USB to MIDI converter lead, and also straight MIDI over USB. Both work fine. It's a nice extension for Chrome if you're looking for an easy to use basic sequencer for an external synth module.
Great for any older hardware synths.
